"In 2002 I met Ray Powell while diving in the Coral Sea. At that time, he told me about his concept about segmental fiberglass finn with more flexability at the front of the fin in progressive resistance to the back. Also, a curved arch at the foot which allowed tohe foot to use its natural biomechanical structure to increase the thrust of the foot in the foot pocket. I have been using the Ray Powell Fins or "Dive - R" fins" during my Blue-Water Hunting in 2004 and 2005.

Recently, I decided to test the "Div-R" fins in an olympic sized pool against some other fins used for Blue-Water , and regular hunting. In summary, the results of the test, after swimming the length of the pool twice, while holding my breath are: Special fins (hard or #4), Composite hybrid - 70 kicks (time is one minute and 5 seconds) Bat fins (#4), Composite 82 kicks (one minute fifteen seconds) Matrix fins (#4) Fiberglass 66 kicks (one minute) Dive-R (#3 medium, color red) fiberglass, 56 kicks (55 seconds) All foot pockets were OMER Millenium.

The fiberglass fins did so well due to the fact that they use the quadracepts much more than the hamstrings. In fact, the ratio is 70/30. Whlle regular fins just have a ratio of 60/40.

In conclusion, the Dive-R fins have surpassed all the other fins due to their flexability, contoured arch, and the fact that they do not break as compared to the Composite fins. Functionally they equal any fin for surface swimming, and surpass all fins in descent in ascent. Personally, I use less energy using the Dive-R fins, and have noticed that I can stay down longer due to ability to ascend faster. I suggest the medium red Dive-R, unless you have enhanced quadracept development, and above average fin thrust."

"With one leg I used to be at a disadvantage somewhat. But with my customised diveR blade I am now closer to a top freediving athelete using a monofin. Extra down time and far less stressful accents.

I can enjoy each dive alot more and can stay in the water longer due to the superior action of the blade . Less fatiuge = more in water time for me. To be honest the use of the dveR fin blade has added a bit of depth and a whole lot of extra time in the water for me. I have been diving for over 20 years and have used various fins.

Being that I only have one leg I put an enormous amount of strain on my fin. Since I started using the DiveR blades I am able to kick for much longer periods of time with greater efficiencey.

It's simple if you want the best then you want to be diving with the diveRs."

"Diver R fins rock! Surface swimming or deep diving they are great.

They helped me win Australian Open Title in 2010."

I was lucky enough to get my hands on the 1st DiveR mono fin blade.

Even with the blade just mounted in an old set of foot pockets I knew it was good. It performed well in the pool but the fin really came into its own when I turned off the bottom of an 85m dive. It produced effortless power.

This fin gets me back to the surface less fatigued and with more gas left in the tank. That’s what really matters in the end.
